PNU Debate Club opens its first recruitment for the upcoming Fall Semester 2026.

V What are Parliamentary Debates?

Parliamentary debate is an exciting intellectual sport where eight speakers compete through logic, persuasion, and critical thinking. Our club practices both Asian Parliamentary (AP) and British Parliamentary (BP) debate formats.

V What are our club's goals?

Our primary goal is to prepare members for major domestic and international parliamentary debate tournaments through realistic practice sessions.

Examples of such tournaments: KNC (Korean National Championship), NEAUDC (Northeast Asian Universities Debate Championship), other tournaments organized by KIDA (Korea Intervarsity Debate Association) and etc.

V Eligibility & Recruitment Information

Number of recruits: 25-30 members (Limited recruitment to maintain a small, high-quality club, so apply early!)

English requirement: CEFR B2 or TOEIC 780+, TOEFL 72+, IELTS 5.5+ (This requirement is waived for applicants who speak English fluently, including overseas Koreans, native speakers, or anyone with near-native English speaking ability.)

Eligibility: Open to undergraduate and graduate students of PNU.

V Activities & Schedule

Activity period: One semester (this semester)

Membership fee: ₩10,000 (A small fee for a semester full of valuable activities!)

Application deadline: September 13

Orientation (OT): The orientation will be held on September 18 18:30, and we'll also organize an after-OT gathering to help members get to know each other and build lasting friendships.
